Match.com reported that singles aged 50 and above were joining at a higher rate than any other demographic. The kink-positive app Feeld saw a 340 percent surge in users aged 60 and above.

To address the challenges in modern dating, several startups launched niche dating apps designed around the promise of AI. These apps, including Volar, Rizz, Iris, and Elate, leverage AI to help users navigate first impressions and awkward conversations. A report from Hopelab found that 40 percent of young people rely on chatbots for ongoing conversations.
Despite the growth in dating apps, singles faced several challenges, including misinterpretation of signals and misinformation. Tinder's annual trends survey found that many users misinterpreted green flags for red ones. Additionally, a study by Flirtini found that one in four people rely on TikTok for dating advice, despite a clear rise in misinformation.
