UK to Launch Digital Drivers License and Wallet

In a move that aligns with the global trend towards digitization, the UK government is set to release a digital drivers license and a digital wallet later this year. The digital drivers license will not only serve as proof of a person's right to drive but will also help users easily verify their age when purchasing age-restricted items both online and in person. The digital wallet will host other government-issued documents such as Veterans Cards and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, although many of these digital versions won't be available until the end of 2027.
